Sunday 2nd May 2010 (WOW WHAT A START)

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Wow what a start to the first car boot sale at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. The weather looked a bit iffy to start with but it soon brightened and in the end it was just a bit cold and windy about normal for a Bank Holiday. The big carboot at Huntingdon Racecourse was also cancelled due to heavy rain and the pitches being on soft ground. The Greyhound Stadium is great because it is all on hard standing. The Posh carboot was also very quiet, a few of the Posh regulars were having a look at the Greyhound setup to see what they thought.

Norman Willerton the new site manger at the Greyhound Stadium carboot sale said we used to run the Wirrina carboot and it was very well supported and was a great loss to Peterborough when it shut. This new site is even better with room for approx 125 stalls and free car parking for buyers it tick’s all the box’s. Today we had a good turnout from stall holders and we had over 300 customers through the gate in a very busy couple of hours.

We are looking forward to the next few weeks as the weather should really start to help us as it now gets warmer.
