Do u think Afr. Amer. girl groups of 60′s-Shirelles, Crystals, Etc had a hard time making it?

I like this era in music. Read lyrics to “Will you still love me…” and they were racy for those times! I know they all had barriers… it’s just hard for me to imagine how much America and society has changed since then. Wish more people looked at the sacrifices of others whenever they buy their expensive cars and carry around $5,000 purses. It’s a shame…

Yes they did. they were not allowed in some places and they started out singing in small clubs mostly Black. They had to travel by bus and often were still made to eat etc in segregated resturants.Once they were famous they had it a little better. Often parents would not let their children listen to the music(white) and the real Shame of it is they were treated much better in Europe than here the ones who made it big enough to go there.
